Rogaine Effectiveness

I occasionally get asked about the effectiveness of Rogaine. I have to say, it’s a pretty easy question to answer.

First of all, Rogaine has had clinical trials that have resulted in a very specific results number. 85% of the men who use Rogaine are able to regrow hair within 6 months.

That being said, keep in mind that you need to use it regularly, and to do everything else you can to promote your hair regrowth. For those of you that don’t want to use a chemical drug like Propecia, I recommend using HairIntegro. I know I talk about in on here quite often, but the simple fact of the matter is that it works more effectively than Rogaine alone. Also, I wouldn’t recommend anything that I don’t personally use.

I know this is a short post, but I hope it’s helpful nonetheless.

Thanks for reading!

Regaine Foam Review

Regaine Foam ReviewFor some reason I started this post a while back, and I just never got around to finishing it. But, here it is.

For those of you who don’t know, Regaine is the same as Rogaine, but it’s sold outside of the United States. I’m not quite sure why they have different names, but they do. Whatever.

Anyway, Regaine is the only topical treatment approved by the FDA to regrow hair. Please note that that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing that works for hair loss. It’s just the only drug that has gone through the clinical trials and has formally been approved by the government to claim that it works for hair loss. The government doesn’t approve anything that’s considered a supplement, such as saw palmetto. For example, manufacturers of prenatal vitamins may not legally be able to say that taking vitamins improves the health of your unborn baby, when in fact that is most definitely the case.

Regaine works for about 85% of men, according to the studies conducted. I’ve seen other studies where Regaine, along with an oral supplement, can work for up to 93% of men.

The bottom line for Regaine foam is that it does work for almost everyone. Not every single person will see the same effects, but I can definitely see from my own experience that Regaine / Rogaine / Minoxidil 5% worked great for me along with HairIntegro supplement. For those of you who don’t know, HairIntegro is a supplement containing several DHT blocking natural ingredients. It comes with a topical minoxidil treatment as well.

Rogaine Review

Don’t Buy Rogaine Until You Read This!

There is no shortage of hair loss products available in the market. There are many labels selling their own products with their very own unique features. All of these products claim to be very effective against baldness. Of all the potent ingredients contained in these products, Minoxidil has a special place as it is FDA approved against hair loss. To understand what Minoxidil is capable of, it is important to understand how this ingredient works. Minoxidil isn’t just a chemical that starts hair growth where ever you choose to rub it. This chemical works on specific areas of the body. For this reason, it is very important how and where you use it. Minoxidil works best at the crown of the head or at the back of the head. This is good news for people who start to lose hair from the back of their head or from the very front.

Minoxidil causes a rise in blood circulation to the scalp. The result of this increased blood flow causes improvement in the hair follicles of the head. Since decreased blood circulation to the scalp is a major reason for balding, an improvement in blood circulation can actually reverse the process of losing hair. Hair follicles tend to shrink if they aren’t supplied with sufficient oxygen via the blood stream. This essentially stints the growth of the hair follicles and your hair starts to fall as a result.

Regular use of Minoxidil can help improve hair follicle health. To ensure this, you probably have to use Minoxidil on daily basis, twice a day. The main aim is to keep your scalp in contact with Minoxidil the longest. To achieve this, you may leave it on for a while before washing your head.

Next comes the step where you look for a product that is rich in Minoxidil. There are many options to choose from. Rogaine is one of them but it is not the only option. There are many other hair products that can help you re-grow your hair. The key is to find the product that suite you best. Not all products are created equally; some work fine for some people while the same product may create problems for others. Just make sure that you do your research prior to shopping and you buy the product with the best review.

Rogaine Reviews for Men

Rogaine Reviews for Men

Read This Before Buying Anything!

I think I talk about Rogaine or at least minoxidil more than just about anything. I’m pretty happy with minoxidil and I’d recommend it to anyone that has hair loss and who has not had negative side effects while using it. It’s not common that people do have negative side effects, so really everyone should at least try it. Keep in mind though, it’s not the ONLY thing that works for hair loss! I’ll tell you what I mean by that in just a moment.

Minoxidil, the active ingredient in Rogaine, is the only FDA approved topical solution for hair loss. There are other supplements and natural ingredients that help to stop hair loss and block DHT, but minoxidil is the only thing that’s actually FDA approved.

If you’re a woman suffering from hair loss, the 2% minoxidil solution is FDA approved for you. Men can use as high as 5% minoxidil solution. There have been companies out there making up to 15% minoxidil solution, and some of them have been claiming it’s FDA approved. That is not the case. Using a higher concentration of minoxidil has not been proven in a laboratory setting to be safe, and you should therefore stick to an FDA approved formulation for safety reasons.

I’ve seen as high as Minoxidil 15% available for purchase, but concentrations this high are not really safe to use, plus they are getting a whole lot harder to find anyway.

If you are planning on really doing what you can for your hair, I would recommend a couple of things. One thing is using minoxidil. Try to stay away from cheaper forms of minoxidil as they are more likely to cause skin irritation. The other thing is using an oral supplement or Propecia to help you lower levels of DHT in your bloodstream and therefore help you to reverse your hair loss.

Like I said, rogaine / minoxidil is not the only thing that works for hair loss, so make sure you branch out and use something that works well along with minoxidil.

If you’re worried about potential negative side effects of Propecia as many men are or if you are a woman who obviously can’t take propecia, I’d say to find another treatment like HairIntegro, which is what I use. I’ve been happy with it and the company that sells it is legit. They offer a great 120% refund policy and they are great when working with customers. I refer all my friends to them.

So to sum it up, does Rogaine work? Yes, it works for about 85% of people that use it. But, it’s not the only thing that works, so find an oral supplement too to go along with it.

Rogaine – Does It Work?

How Does Rogaine Work?

When people ask me about rogaine, I always try and make let them know that its not just Rogaine that works, it’s minoxidil that is in Rogaine. Minoxidil is the ingredient that is FDA approved, and lucky for us, because there are other minoxidil products out there, we can now get a better and more effective form of minoxidil from different sources.

Minoxidil is just a chemical that helps to revitalize your hair follicles and makes them continue to grow hair rather than slowly degenerate over time until they no longer produce hair. What essentially causes hair loss in the first place is that your follicles are not getting enough oxygen and so they shrink to the point that they can no longer produce hair. Minoxidil just helps more oxygen get to your hair follicles.

The instructions on the pack of Rogaine say that you should use it morning and night without fail. Over time, you will see an improvement. It may take as much as 6 months to see a difference.

Within the first 2 weeks of using Minoxidil, you are likely to lose MORE hair than you were originally, but that’s just a sign that it’s working. Also, your scalp may become slightly irritated at first, but it’s likely to go away after just a few days of use. If you get overly irritated, it’s alright to skip a day so you can recover. Most people have no problem at all anyway.

If you continue to check and see if your hair is growing in thicker,  try to look for thin hairs at first. What happens is that your hairs are going to be light and thin like peach fuzz at first ast your follicles are getting bigger, but then over time your hairs will become more coarse until they are the same as your regular hairs.

If you are interested in using a minoxidil product, I would not put Rogaine by itself at the top of my list. Rather, I would put other products that are, in my opinion, much more complete and more effective. Check out my hair loss product reviews if that interests you.

Procerin Ingredients

Procerin Ingredients

I’ve used Procerin for about 6 months in the past, and I sometimes get asked about the ingredients in Procerin that make it work. Procerin is not an FDA approved treatment, and it is all-natural. However, it can still be quite effective for many people who use it.

When I used Procerin about 2 years ago, I did see some decent results in my first 6 months. However, it was really not as great as I had hoped. I was originally going to stay away from any minoxidil treatment because I’d heard of potential side effects, but I eventually decided the chance for side effects was so minimal I really didn’t need to worry about it.

Anyway, back to Procerin’s ingredients. Based on my research, here are a few of the top notable procerin ingredients in the oral supplement portion:  Saw palmetto, Zinc, Uvu-arsi extract, Pumpkin seed extract, and Pyroxidine.

It’s a little difficult for me to give a full rundown of these ingredients as to how they work exactly, but the gist of it is that they promote health hormone levels, specifically a lower level of DHT. This is what caused hair loss in almost all men, and therefore having lower levels of DHT leads to hair regrowth.

I had a hard time finding any of the ingredients for the Procerin XT Foam, so I’m going to have to skip that. I’m not certain why they don’t have those ingredient’s posted online. I originally had thought that it had azeleic acid in it, but I’m not sure since I can’t find a breakdown of it and I can’t find the bottles I once used. They were empty, after all, and I probably threw them away.

So, back to my personal review of Procerin and procerin ingredients; I liked it, but not quite enough to keep using it. I would say I saw about 30% of the results I wanted to see. So, I switched to HairIntegro that has a really great oral supplement that includes many of the same ingredients of Procerin, but it also has and FDA approved minoxidil portion that’s just amazing for hair regrowth. You don’t have to take my word for it, but I’d say it’s really pretty good.

Rogaine for Women Reviews

Rogaine for Women Reviews

Having been a writer on MyHairLossTruth.com for quite a while, I’ve been able to get a feel for how well different products work for our site visitors. Not as many women lose their hair as do men and so it’s a little hard for us to get good feedback about products like rogaine. However, we’ve been able to find a couple of different people who could give us something to work with.

First, there’s Melinda. She’s 47 and started losing her hair about a year ago. She said the following about Rogaine for Women:

“I’ve been using Rogaine for about 4 months. My hair loss came on pretty suddenly and I was pretty surprised by it, but Rogaine has been doing the trick. After 4 months I’ve been seeing some improvement and I’m going to stick with Rogaine for a while into the future.”

I’d say that’s a pretty good result for someone who has been using JUST rogaine and no oral supplement to go along with it. 4 months is pretty early to be seeing good results already. So, that’s one result for you.

Here’s another review I got from a visitor Named Blaire who’s actually using HairIntegro for Women, which is very similar to Rogaine for Women in that it has a 2% minoxidil topical treatment. However, HairIntegro includes a oral supplement that helps regrow even more hair faster. So, here is her review:

“I’ve been using Hairintegro for about 8 months. I didn’t see much change in my first 2 months, but after than I noticed plenty of improvement. Even now I’m still noticing improvement. At this rate, I should be back to normal in a few more months.”

Once again, pretty impressive results. I know technically she’s using HairIntegro (since it’s what I normally recommend to people who ask) but it does still include a 2% minoxidil solution PLUS an oral supplement. So naturally, I’d say it’s a good idea to look into it if you are curious about it. It doesn’t make a difference to me if you use it or not, but at LEAST look into some minoxidil product if you’re wanting to see some improvement.

Minoxidil 15 Review

Minoxidil 15 Review

Does Minoxdil 15 Percent Work?

minoxidil 15I’m fairly familiar with how minoxidil works after reading about it for the past few years. When I started to lose my hair, I started to do a whole lot of research and learned a lot about all the minoxidil based products I could learn about. So naturally, I learned about minoxidil 15% as well.

I have not personally used minoxidil 15% in any of its forms, but there’s a pretty good reason for that. After looking into its effectiveness, I learned that minoxidil 15% is actually not FDA approved. The FDA originally approved minoxidil 2% for use on men, and then women. They then approved minoxidil 5% for use on men only. However, they never approved any higher levels of minoxidil. There have never been clinical studies to detect its effectiveness or safety, and that’s somewhat of a concern for me.

As of just recently, Xandrox was actually banned by the FDA because of their claims that their 15% minoxidil solution is FDA approved. Although minoxidil is FDA approved in 2% and 5% solutions, a 15% solution could be far more dangerous for people to use.

Although minoxidil does have a low occurrence of side effects if it’s in a high-quality mixture. I have heard of people having problems with redness and irritation occurring in cheaper, lower quality formulas. However, the more serious side effects of minoxidil are increased as you increase the dosage of minoxidil in your solution.

Some of the more serious side effects of minoxidil 15 are: Red, flaky, irritated skin, chest pain, faintness or dizziness, sudden unexplained weight gain, swelling of hands or feet, unwanted facial hair growth.

Although not every single person who uses minoxidil 15% will have all of those negative side effects, it’s still a good idea for people to stay away from it if it’s banned by the FDA. I realize it may work for some people, but when the potential risks outweigh the rewards, I’d say it’s best to just find something else that’s effective and has a much lower risk for side effects.

Because I get asked this question more than any other question on my blog, I’m going to just say that the hair loss product I personally recommend is called HairIntegro. It’s a great minoxidil formula with an oral supplement that works on about 93% of people who use it.

Nanogen Reviews

Nanogen Reviews

With the number of visitors that come to our blog each day, we’re able to get a pretty good chunk of information about products like Nanogen that our blog readers may be reading. There are plenty of hair loss concealers out there, and some of them are definitely favored above others based on what I hear from our blog readers.

Anyway, after conducting a quick survey for a few weeks on what kinds of concealers people used that they liked, an overwhelming 78% preferred DermMatch. About 12% liked Toppik, and about 7% liked Hair Cubed. However, nobody really liked any of the keratin nanofibre products like Nanogen. I asked a few more questions to get to the bottom of this problem.

First, I’ve found that most people prefer to use a product that is far more permanent. DermMatch is really just a scalp coloring agent and it doesn’t flake off or anything like that. It’s just about as permanent as a concealer can get. I’ve heard it’s not perfectly waterproof or anything, but it’s still pretty good and I know of people that have used it while swimming and have not had a problem with it.

Asked one of our blog readers named Brandon to give us a rundown of what he thought about Toppik, which is very similar to Nanogen. He said the following: “After using it for about 3 weeks, it became apparent I was never really going to be comfortable doing most of the things I do each day if I had to worry about these nanofibres flaking off. Eventually I switched to DermMatch because I knew it would be far less noticeable and wouldn’t flake off. The only downside is that it’s harder to apply and take about 10 minutes, but that’s worth it in order to look so much better with a full head of hair. I am also seeing a lot of hair regrowth with HairIntegro and eventually I’ll probably stop using concealers altogether.

Brandon helps us by offering a lot of his personal views on products, and I think this pretty much sums up what I’ve heard from a number of people about hair loss concealers. First, fibers can be messy and that’s annoying. Second, using a product that actually REVERSES hair loss is crucial in addition to a concealer, because eventually you may be able to get rid of concealers and just be happy with a full head of hair again. Either way, concealers look even better if there’s more hair to go along with it.
